Tanya and Ellie’s wedding day at The Canary Sheds was the definition of joyful, heartfelt, and full of colour. A bright celebration of two women madly in love, surrounded by the people who love them most. With its iconic hanging canary installation, character filled spaces and vineyard surroundings, The Canary Sheds wedding venue set the scene perfectly for a day that balanced emotion, energy, and an unforgettable party.

The morning began with both brides getting ready separately, each surrounded by their nearest and dearest. There was a calm excitement in the air, the kind that builds quietly before everything suddenly becomes very real. One of the most emotional moments of the morning came during a beautiful letter and gift exchange. It brought tears to everyone’s eyes, and luckily the makeup team were on hand to keep Tanya and Ellie looking flawless as the happy tears rolled in.

The emotional moments continued as both brides gave their parents letters too. Those private exchanges, filled with gratitude and love, felt especially powerful and set the tone for the day ahead. There were more beautiful family moments as Tanya and Ellie revealed their dresses to their dads and brothers. `Reactions full of pride, disbelief, and the kind of love that doesn’t need many words.

Just before the ceremony, Tanya and Ellie shared a moment that felt incredibly intimate and special. Standing on either side of a screen, they held hands for a “first touch” without a first look; connected, nervous, excited, and completely present with each other before walking down the aisle.

As guests arrived for the ceremony, the weather was a little blustery, but not for a second did it dampen the mood. Everyone brought such warmth and energy, and the venue’s personality shone through. Tanya and Ellie each walked down the aisle with their parents, meeting at the end to declare their vows, a moment that felt both meaningful and beautifully them.

The colour palette across the day was incredible. The pink and orange tones in the bridesmaids’ dresses and décor brought a bold, modern brightness that suited the venue so well, and it looked amazing against the rustic textures and open spaces the Canary Sheds has to offer. After the ceremony, colourful confetti filled the air, followed by family photos that showed just how loved Tanya and Ellie are.

The celebrations continued as guests mingled inside beneath the thousands of colourful canaries hanging overhead, the detail that gives the venue its name and makes it so instantly recognisable. With Dan Brock providing the perfect acoustic soundtrack on guitar, the atmosphere felt relaxed, happy, and full of conversation and laughter.

While guests enjoyed the space, Tanya and Ellie slipped away for couple photos and quieter moments in the surrounding vineyard and grounds. The magic between them was tangible, effortless, affectionate, and full of that “we chose each other” energy that makes for the most authentic moments on film.

Back inside, the brides made an upbeat entrance into the dining room and everyone sat down to enjoy a delicious meal. Speeches followed, delivered by two of the proudest fathers we’ve ever seen, along with friends and the brides themselves. It was the perfect mix of heartfelt words, laughter, and emotion, everyone felt part of something special.

As the evening celebrations began, the energy lifted instantly with traditional Jewish dancing, bringing everyone onto their feet in the most brilliantly vibrant way. It was lively, joyful, and full of movement and it led to the unforgettable moment where Tanya and Ellie were lifted into the air on chairs, surrounded by cheers and pure celebration.

From there, the brides shared a beautiful first dance and dances with their parents, before the dancefloor stayed packed all night. Guests danced their hearts out to The Shakedown function band, who kept the energy high and the floor full from the first song to the last. Just when it felt like the day couldn’t hold any more excitement, Tanya had secretly arranged with the band to sing a special song to Ellie. Ellie always asks her to sing for her. It was such an intimate, personal gesture, made even sweeter by the reaction from the room.

The party continued late into the night, only pausing briefly for everyone to step outside for an impromptu champagne spray in the moonlight. The perfect, spontaneous ending to a wedding day that felt like a firework from beginning to end.
