Trys, ties and true love; A Grand Affair at Gosfield Hall
Emily & Lewis’ Unforgettable Wedding at Gosfield Hall
When it comes to fairytale venues, Gosfield Hall is always a showstopper and Emily & Lewis’ wedding proved exactly why. With its regal architecture, sweeping grounds, and a bridal suite straight out of a period drama, this 16th-century Georgian mansion set the perfect stage for a day filled with love, laughter, and some unforgettable rugby-lad antics.
The morning began in the heart of the Hall, the Rococo Honeymoon Suite. It’s hard not to be in awe of this space. Ornate mirrors, towering pillars, and natural light pouring in from every angle. Emily and her bridesmaids brought the suite to life with bubbly energy (and actual bubbly). There were TikToks, teary gift swaps, emotional reveals, and enough champagne to keep the vibes high. It was a whirlwind of glam, giggles and happy tears before Emily stepped into her gown like a true queen of the Hall.
Along with hair stylists and make up artists, Emily had all of her beautiful bridesmaids rallying round to fetch earrings, perfume and do up shoes. Emily definitely had the full glam squad experience and was an absolute picture in her wedding get-up. A sight that instantly made tears flow from the bridesmaids. An emotional dress reveal with her doting dad had us all reaching for the tissues and then there was just time for a few last minute pep talks from the girls and it was go time.
Meanwhile, down one of Gosfield’s many grand corridors, Lewis and the boys were getting ready and it didn’t take us long to realise we were in the presence of rugby lads. Loud, hilarious, and full of energy, their prep felt more like a pre-match locker room than a wedding morning. Tactical beers were cracked open, dares thrown about, and there may have been a healthy dose of banter flying around before the suits went on.
The ceremony took place in the manicured grounds of Gosfield Hall, beneath clear blue skies, surrounded by a sea of pristine white florals. Emily’s entrance was breathtaking, and the outdoor setting added a softness and warmth to an already emotional moment. They sealed the deal with a confetti-flurry aisle walk and a dip kiss so perfectly executed, it was like something out of a movie!
The drinks reception flowed effortlessly across the patio and lawns, backed by the upbeat sounds of the Snap Chaps who knew exactly how to get a crowd going. And this was the moment the rugby culture truly took hold. “Shoeys” (you read that right. Drinking from their own sweaty shoes like it was a ceremonial cup), impromptu singalongs, and dares that had us all crying with laughter. One highlight? Thirty-plus fully grown rugby blokes in suits serenading the couple with Taylor Swift’s Love Story as the Snap Chaps played. Champagne sprays and a few creative photography stunts and we had those rugby lads playing into our hands for the rest of the day HA.
Guests were then invited into the grand Ballroom; a space that never fails to wow. Under shimmering crystal chandeliers, tables were styled to perfection and dinner was served with elegance. Speeches followed. A mix of heartfelt, hilarious, and outrageously bold. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house… or a tie left around anyone’s neck. Most were being swung overhead in classic team spirit style. “Up the Cocks” chants (in honour of Lewis’ rugby team) rang out between toasts, and the laughter was absolutely infectious.
As golden hour hit, Emily re-emerged in a second stunning gown, and we took a stroll through Gosfield’s surrounding countryside to capture that dreamy evening light. With the Hall as a backdrop and fields aglow, these were the kind of shots every videographer dreams of.
Evening guests arrived just as the summer glow lingered, drinks in hand, ready for the cake cut and a romantic first dance inside Gosfield Hall’s dedicated bar and disco lounge. Another glorious dip kiss (can they teach a class, please?) kicked off the night, and the band, The Beat Suite launched into their set with serious energy. From that point on it was ties round heads, sleeves rolled up, heels ditched, and the kind of dance floor madness that we dream of.
Just when you thought the day had reached its peak, someone had the fabulous idea of giving 30+ drunken rugby lads and their partners sparklers. The results were beautiful yet hilarious! How we all escaped a burn (us and the guests) I still don’t know!
Emily & Lewis, thank you for bringing the fire, the romance, and the absolute chaos (in the best way possible). Gosfield Hall was made for weddings like yours, and we loved every second of it.
