Confetti, Cardio & the Circle of Life
Alana & David’s Power-Packed Wedding Day at The Ravenswood, Kent
Some weddings start with champagne. This one kicked off with a squat challenge.
Set in the enchanting grounds of The Ravenswood in Horsted Keynes in West Sussex, Alana and David’s big day was the perfect blend of romance, hilarity, and endorphin-fuelled energy. Both fitness coaches and self-confessed gym junkies, they brought the same dedication to their wedding day as they do to their workouts and the results were “chef’s kiss”. With its rich historic charm, dramatic staircases, and that iconic lakeside “Pride Rock” feature (yes, that one), it’s a dream venue for both videographers and couples alike.
Bridal prep began not with mimosas, but with a bridal party squat challenge because well of course it did. Alana, looking every bit the goddess in bridal pyjamas, rallied her bridal squad for a few TikToks (priorities), whilst the glam squad got to work. The bridal party looked sensational, ready to hype their girl down the aisle, paused only by Alana hitting a cheeky, banded upright row finisher to really get those delts poppin’ in that gorgeous gown.
David’s face said it all when he first saw Alana at the end of the aisle. The ceremony went off without a hitch, surrounded by friends, family, and a whole lot of love. And let’s not forget the confetti aisle moment. Rain or shine, this crew had it nailed, complete with a perfectly-timed dip kiss that could have been pulled from a movie script. Iconic.
The drinks reception was hosted in The Ravenswood’s beautiful Baronial Hall, with guests enjoying canapés and music while the couple made the most of the venue’s picturesque photo spots. That grand staircase served as the perfect location for portraits; elegant, regal, and oh-so-Ravenswood.
Later, guests were welcomed into The Princess Beatrice Suite, a stunning round room which was beautifully styled with elegant floral arrangements and panoramic views of the grounds. The wedding breakfast hit the spot, but it was the speeches that really stole the show: equal parts touching and hilarious. David’s cheeky line about unwrapping his “real present” later (aka, his stunning wife) got the crowd giggling and the bride and her father definitely blushing.
As the clouds cleared, the couple were blessed with a golden hour glow, perfect for a dreamy photo and video session around the estate. Of course, a visit to The Ravenswood’s infamous Pride Rock was non-negotiable, complete with a full-on Circle of Life moment that had us all howling (literally). The waterfront hide, the birdcage and the illuminated woodland made for even more gorgeous footage of this wonderful couple. A large group photo on the lawn gave us another classic moment when David’s mum hilariously went missing right on cue. She reappeared to cheers, laughs, and a bit of light ribbing, making for a photo worth waiting for.
The evening party brought the vibes. Live band The Night Liners delivered hit after hit, the dance floor packed from the first chord. Ties turned into headbands, heels came off, and there were slut drops galore. The energy was higher than a HIIT workout but the vibe was infectious and we couldn’t help but have a dance and sing-a-long with this wonderful couple!
Alana and David, thank you for letting us be a part of your electric day at The Ravenswood. You brought the energy, the love, and the laughs, and maybe inspired us to dust off the gym gear and hit the squat rack ourselves. This one will go down in RTD history.
